STUDY ABOUT PHARMACY IN INDIA

In India there are many opportunity for study about pharmacy. Pharmacy word is obtained from the Greek word “Pharmakon”. Galen is a Greek physician he is the father of Pharmacy. Mahadeva Lal Schroff is the father of Indian Pharmacy. Pharmacy is the study of the drug, where we learn how to prepare dispensing of medicines. Also we know how to doing first aid and the knowledge about the diagnosis. 25th September is the World Pharmacy Day. In India we can study pharmacy after 10+2 (Science). After 10+2 PCI (Pharmacy Council Of India) and All Indian Council of Technical Education (AICTE) offered diploma and bachelor. Diploma in Pharmacy is 2 years, and Bachelor in Pharmacy is 4 years. After bachelor in pharmacy we goes for higher study i.e Masters in Pharmacy (2 years) and M.B.A (2 years) etc . We can do B.Pharm (Bachelor In Pharmacy) for 3 years (lateral  entry) after complete D.Pharm (Diploma In Pharmacy). In d.pharm has 12 subjects, in 1st year theory subjects are Pharmaceutics-1, Biochemistry and Clinical Pathology, Pharmacognosy, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry – 1, Health Education and Community Pharmacy and 5 practical subjects are  Pharmaceutics-1 practical, Biochemistry and Clinical Pathology practical,  Pharmacognosy  practical, Human Anatomy and Physiology practical,   Pharmaceutical Chemistry – 1 practical. 2nd year theory subjects are Pharmaceutics – 2, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Drug Store and Business Management, Pharmaceutical Jurisprudence, Hospital and Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry – 2 and 4 practical subjects are Pharmaceutics – 2 practical, Pharmacology and Toxicology practical,  Hospital and Clinical Pharmacy practical, Pharmaceutical Chemistry – 2 practical. As per rule of PCI 3 months hospital training is mandatory for students. Job opportunities in d.pharm in hospital as a pharmacist , medicine store, pharma industry etc. B.Pharm syllabus is depend on the university or college. In Banaras Hindu University (Indian Institute Of Technology, Varanasi) has 8 sem and syllabus is in 1st sem has 5 theory subjects- Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Inorganic Chemistry, Physics, Computer Programming and Graphics, Mathematics & Statistics and 2nd sem has 5 theory subjects- Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry – I, Pharmaceutical Biology, Physical Pharmaceutics, Environmental Studies, Professional Communication and 3rd sem has 5  theory subjects- Pharmaceutical Technology, Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry – II, Pharmaceutical Physical Chemistry, Pharmacology–I (Anatomy & Physiopharmacology), Pharmaceutical Microbiology and 4th sem has 5 theory subjects- Dispensing and Hospital Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Analysis – I, Pharmacognosy – I, Pharmacology – II, Pharmaceutical Engineering. 5th sem has 5 theory subjects Pharmaceutical Medicinal Chemistry – I, Pharmacognosy – II, Pharmaceutical Biochemistry, Pharmacology – III, Pharmaceutical Jurisprudence. 6th sem has 5 theory subjects- Pharmaceutical Analysis – II, Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, Pharmacology – IV, Pharmaceutical Management, Open Elective (Humanities). 7th sem has 4 theory subjects- Pharmaceutical Instrumental Analysis, Dosage Formulation Design, Pharmaceutical Medicinal Chemistry – II, Elective, 8th sem has 4 theory subjects-  Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Medicinal Chemistry – III, Pharmacognosy – III, Elective. Also practical subjects are in 1st sem  Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Inorganic Chemistry, Physics, Computer Lab. In 2nd sem Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry – I, Pharmaceutical Biology, Physical Pharmaceutics. In 3rd sem Pharmaceutical Technology, Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry – II, Pharmaceutical Physical Chemistry, Pharmacology – I. In 4th sem Dispensing Pharmacy, Pharmacognosy – I, Pharmaceutical Engineering. In 5th sem Pharmaceutical Medicinal Chemistry – I, Pharmacognosy – II, Pharmaceutical Biochemistry, Pharmacology – II. In 6th sem Pharmaceutical Analysis – I, Pharmaceutical Microbiology, Pharmacology – III. In 7th sem Dosage Formulation Design, Pharmaceutical Medicinal Chemistry – II, Project, Seminar/Group Discussion, Training/Tour Viva-voce. In 8th sem Pharmaceutical Instrumental Analysis, Pharmacognosy – III, Project, Comprehensive Viva-voce. There are many colleges in India to study in pharmacy.
